Sophie Side Table, Oak

HER STORY

The Sophie Side Table is a petite, classically inspired solid oak side table, designed in Australia with a relaxed and understated sensibility. Her turned legs, softly detailed form and balanced proportions draw on traditional furniture design, reinterpreted through an Australian lens for contemporary living.

Designed on the Sunshine Coast, Sophie has a character that feels familiar and enduring rather than tied to a particular trend. Compact yet distinctive, she brings the warmth of natural timber and classical detailing into the home without feeling overly formal.

MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP

Sophie is crafted from 100% solid European oak, with no MDF and no timber veneer. Valued for its strength, natural grain and warm character, European oak gives this small side table the tactile quality and individuality that can only come from real timber.

Her natural oak finish celebrates rather than conceals the character of the wood, allowing variations in grain, tone and texture to remain visible. As every Sophie is made from natural solid timber, each table carries its own subtle variations and is inherently unique.

STYLING & VERSATILITY

Small in scale and wonderfully versatile, Sophie is designed to find a place almost anywhere in the home. Use her as a solid oak side table beside a sofa or armchair, an occasional table in a reading corner, or a small bedside table or nightstand where space is limited.

Her compact footprint makes Sophie particularly useful in apartments, guest rooms and smaller living spaces, while her solid timber construction gives her the presence and durability of a more substantial piece of furniture.

The warm natural oak pairs easily with linen, wool, stone and other natural materials, while Sophie's turned detailing allows her to complement both classically inspired and contemporary interiors. She works just as naturally in a relaxed country or cottage setting as she does alongside cleaner, more modern furnishings.

Sophie reflects what sits at the heart of Rekindle: classically inspired Australian furniture, crafted from natural solid timber and designed to be useful for many years. A small solid oak table with enduring character, she is a piece that can move from room to room as the needs of a home change.

Timber is a live material and will react to fluctuations in humidity and temperature in your home. Subtle expansion, warping or hairline cracks are a natural reaction and are considered part of its charming character. To minimise the changes to the timber, take care to not place it close to or in front of heaters or air conditioning vents. We also recommend to avoid placing your pieces in direct sunlight.
