Australian Furniture Design House.
Rekindle Design Co. was founded by Lena and Hendrik after they relocated from Europe, back to Australia in 2019.
Lena is Australian-born with Swiss roots, while Hendrik grew up in Germany. After spending some time travelling Australia, they settled down on the Sunshine Coast, where the rainforest meets white sandy beaches, and winter as we know it in most parts of Europe doesn't exist.
It was here that Rekindle was born.
For the love of furniture
The brand was founded on a shared appreciation for furniture with a sense of permanence: designs that draw from classical influences, viewed through a distinctly Australian lens.
That perspective brings a love of natural materials and an ease that favours spaces that are beautiful, but never overly formal.
These influences find their way into our furniture subtly. Traditional details are softened, natural timber is celebrated, and the result is furniture that feels timeless and familiar, yet distinctly Rekindle.
Now, for the first time, Rekindle Design Co. is bringing its Australian perspective to Europe.
A celebration of nature
We believe natural timber needs little embellishment.
Its grain, tone and subtle variations are part of what makes each piece individual, and our designs are created to celebrate these qualities rather than conceal them.
We favour finishes that allow the natural character of the timber to remain visible and tactile, rather than covering or disguising it. Knots, grain and variations in colour are not imperfections to be hidden, but part of the material's story.
The result is furniture that feels warm, honest and individual, with the natural beauty of the timber at its heart.
Living beyond trends
Rather than participating in a cycle of fast furniture and fleeting trends, we design pieces with longevity in mind, both in the way they look and the materials from which they are made.
Our designs are intended to feel relevant for years to come, while natural timber gives them the ability to age with character, be cared for, restored and lived with over time.
For us, positive change means returning to the idea that furniture should be valued and kept. Pieces that move from home to home, gather stories along the way and, one day, can be passed on to the next generation.

European Launch
This November marks an exciting new chapter for Rekindle Design Co. as we bring our collection to Europe for the first time. Operating from the Netherlands, our European store will serve customers across the EU and Switzerland. We’re incredibly excited to share our Australian perspective on enduring design with a new audience, and to see our pieces find their place in homes across Europe.
