Our Story
We're Hendrik and Lena, founders of Rekindle Design Co.
After spending more than a decade living in Europe, we returned to Australia inspired by the timeless beauty of the furniture we discovered wandering weekend markets, antique stores and second-hand dealers.
That experience shaped our philosophy: to create furniture with the character of an heirloom and the confidence of being beautifully made, brand new.
Today, every Rekindle collection is designed from our studio in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Australia. Crafted from solid natural timber and inspired by timeless design, our pieces are relaxed, understated and made for homes that are truly lived in.
It's been a privilege to see our furniture become part of thousands of Australian homes. As we bring Rekindle to Europe, we hope it finds a place in yours, too.
Design through an Australian lens
Our designs are shaped by two places we call home. It’s a natural exchange between old and new worlds, as we've increasingly embraced the warmth and charm of farmhouse and cottage style, we bring something of Australia back to Europe: a lighter, more informal interpretation of familiar forms, designed for contemporary living.

Inspired by the Australian way of living, where nature is never far away, we believe the materials we bring into our homes should feel just as honest. That’s why our designs are crafted using natural timber, never MDF or imitation wood. It’s our way of helping move furniture towards a more sustinable future.
